Perisher Even Better

Lodge Gallery

To view the many photos of Geebung and it's Members click on the following link.

With Perisher being not as accessible to transport / supermarkets / restaurants as Thredbo, we thought it would be helpful for those members who do not use Perisher to mention some tips for those wanting to access the Largest Australian Ski Resort in a fantastic lodge.

Getting there:
Most people travelling to Perisher use the park and ride via the ski tube that puts you in the main terminal building, then using Hans Oversnow to the Lodge. This requires a bit of loading and unloading that can be avoided if you want to use Sawpit Micks Valet Parking Service. With prearranged booking you can drive to Sawpit Creek were Sawpit Mick will drive you up in your car and deliver you and your luggage to the Valley Terminal, connecting with Hans Oversnow to the lodge. He will then pick you up at a predetermined time and date in your car avoiding the tube altogether. He charges $110* for the return service. It is important to note that you will be entering the National Park so fees will apply.

You can contact Sawpit Micks Valet Parking Service on ph: 02 64 562 321, fax: 02 64 572 321, mobile : 0412 045 894.

Provisioning:
IGA in Jindabyne provide a service to have all your grocery’s packed and delivered to the lodge. All you need to do is ensure that the lodge manager is aware of your pending delivery. He can’t take full responsibility for the delivery but our experience is there are very few problems.

You can contact IGA in Jindabyne ph: 02 6456 1811, fax grocery orders to : 02 6456 2949.

Another option for those not wanting to have the hassle of cooking and the preparation that is involved is to use prepared meals from Gourmet Dinner Service. Absolutely delicious meals – worth a visit to their web site www.gourmetdinnerservice.com.au All very reasonably priced. Just heat and serve.
  • Guinness Beef Pie - Beef + mushrooms marinated in Guinness + fresh herbs topped w pastry.
    - French classic dish of chicken cooked w bacon + mushrooms cooked in red wine
    - Baked in a red wine, roasted garlic, tomato + rosemary

  • Coq Au Vin
  • Roasted Lamb Shanks

To and from the snow:
Most people find the trip up to the lodge a bit of a chore at the end of the day and although many members know about the service that Hans Oversnow provide we think its worth reminding members and their guest that Hans offers a cheap service from the Valley Terminal to Geebung every afternoon $4.50 / trip *. The skiers special shuttle departs every 15 minutes from 4 - 6pm. For those wanting to hang around the bars, you probably won’t even notice the walk back to the lodge.

*Prices are subject to variation and confirmation.
